First, let me throw a major thank you in the direction of my friends Jess and Jackson of @justajacksonthing for connecting us with this opportunity in the first place. No way it happened without their recommendation!
So a month or so ago, podcaster extraordinaire Theo Von's production crew reached out to see if we were interested in being featured on their upcoming All American Brands Christmas Spectacular (or some such), featuring the inimitable Mike Rowe. And well, yeah... of course we were interested. Who wouldn't be?
We sent in all the info (and it was a lot!), including Q&A, images, video, and a pretty sturdy box of gear for them to check out. It was a little bit of a roll of the dice, since these things don't always work out, but then out of nowhere, I see my email getting blown up with orders this past Friday, as soon as it aired.
Sidenote: Perhaps I'll upload all the Q&A for all to see in a few days. Was an interesting exercise, to be sure.
And while the sweetness of all those orders is one thing, the absolute glory of hearing Mike preach the gospel of Calavera for nearly three minutes straight was pretty dang awesome, I'm not even gonna say it wasn't.
I think he described our belts "Tough as a $2 Christmas steak on New Year's Eve." Pretty great.
Oh, and Theo Von is apparently a pretty big deal too. I just kinda always loved Mike in Dirty Jobs.
