To appreciate the finished work of a master craftsman is one thing. To see it come to life though, is a thing to behold.
I had the good fortune to visit my excellent friend Brad Samples at his shop in Fountain Inn, SC, where he hand turns, grinds, files, engraves and fine tunes duck calls for outdoorsmen from around the world. Brad is slow to tell you how good he is, but the trophies, medals and ribbons lining the walls of his shop tell you everything you need to know.
Oh, and while I was there, he turned this amazing duck call from blank to finished piece. Even got a couple lessons on how to call some ducks! And yes, I got to keep it.
